Personal Branding is a constant work in progress and we must use multiple tools to put ourselves
out there and that is why I wanted to introduce you to a cool personal branding tool.

In order to fully develop our personal brand it will be important to personalize a few things. It might start with a personal blog or a one of a kind business card. Having a cool customized Facebook and Twitter page will certainly help build your brand. Some people may even get tattoos or wrap their vehicle. LOL

After doing over 3000 personal videos I felt it would be good to share ten things that will help a person deliver a quality personal video.

1. Be Authentic and Always Do You

2. Love the camera so it will Love You back

3. Smile at the beginning and end of each video to begin with and leave a lasting positive impression.

4. Make sure you have the right equipment. I recommend the Kodak Zi8 with remote control around $200

5. Have the right background that matches the message you are sending

6. Correct lighting will be the key to any video

7. Having good audio quality will be important.

8. Wearing the proper attire is important. Match colors with your background

9. Keep your video short. No more than 150 seconds

10. Put yourself/your videos out there. Upload to YouTube, Viddler,Vimeo for starters

Personal Search Engine Optimization is a key ingredient to building your personal brand. Personal search engine optimization is a way for you to take control of your personal brand. Large businesses and corporations have whole SEO teams at their disposal monitoring how their sites rank for specific keywords and phrases. Individuals have a much harder time wading through the vast amount of knowledge regarding SEO and search engine rankings to discover how to define and manage their personal brand. If you’ve ever Googled yourself and been less than happy with the results, you’ve discovered a need for personal SEO. Would you like to see different results under a Google search for your name or your business name? Would you like the ability to monitor what’s being said about you or your business on the web and in the blogosphere? Would you like to elevate certain links to the first page of Google results for your name or your business name? Personal SEO is an affordable or sometimes free solution that sometimes can be accomplished by sweat equity by an individual.

Some great ways to elevate your online rankings you will need to be active online on sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Buzz, You Tube, FlickR, Four Square and many other social media sites coming down the pike. Your constant activity online will allow you to build your online presence. Things like commenting on blogs or simply commenting on people post or thank others for commenting on your post. The devil is in the details.

“Social Networks” are for making lasting connections between people who are related in various ways, e.g. family members, friends, colleagues, shared interest, fans, professional contacts, etc.  Some are better for making new connections with other network members, like LinkedIn, while others are more typically used by people who are actively connected in some way outside the network, like Facebook. Twitter is best used for broadcasting breaking news, event notification, your thoughts and movements, or links to other content to a potentially large group of identified individuals and providing a context for them to post responses and comments in place where others can see them.  A good use of this capability is to build confidence in existing customers with announcements of new deals or products.  Such services are widely misused as a mere reminder of the tweeter’s existence or for providing a digest of information that few people care about, e.g. “On my way to the airport.”Presentation Sites” like Flikr and YouTube enable the posting of picture albums and videos, respectively, of any length for free, to be viewable either by the general public or only those you allow.  Viewers can publicly share their unregulated opinions and responses as they wish.It will be important that you are plugged into multiple social media sites and use tools like contact management, videos and video email and desktop sharing.
